'Tis The Earnings Season

The earnings season is upon us once again. Preliminary numbers are looking pretty good with most reports showing a parring down of losses and some modest sales numbers. As we progress down this road to recovery, the market is going to want to see some "real growth" numbers. Corporate profits are going to have to start adding to the bottom line and P/E ratios will come back into play for valuations. Make sure that you are being careful with you stock selections with that in mind.....

Republicans Take Mass

The Republicans took back a historically liberal state with Scott Brown winning the Senate seat that was vacated when Ted Kennedy passed away. This will throw a wrinkle into the govervnments plan to nationalize healthcare. Do you agree that this election sent a clear picture to the President that this legislation was not wanted???Please give us your feedback.

Snow Grips the Area

As I look out of my office window at all of the snow coming down and think about how long it actually took me to get here today, I am reminded that this winter is still presenting itself with some investment opportunities. Specifically, natural gas and companies that produce it are great places to find yield and return right now. They have been at some unbelievable lows over the last year and are starting to rebound nicely. Take a look north of the border for some current good values.
